Simple invoice. Passed Accessibility check in Word before saving.
Title is saved as title.
Save to pdf, run >Accessibility >Full check > get error, "Title" failed

Windows 10
Office 365 Word version 1904

Adobe Acrobat Pro DC version 2019.012.20034

  • From Acrobat goto File/Properties. In the popup, under the Description Tab, check that you have a title listed in the Title field.
  • In the same popup window click the Initial View Tab. Under the Window Options block, make sure "Show" is set to "Document Title."

See if either of those get you going.

From the Word Doc side, you could click on File/Info then under the Properties section (far right) make sure your Title field is populated with the title of your document so that it exports with the PDF build.

Both of these efforts worked.

So basically these instructions are identifying that Word doesn't save the Title. I have to go into properties and add it, and the same with Acrobat. Even after I saved the title in Word and made another pdf, the title was still missing, I had to add it to the properties.

Thanks

Not exactly, no.

To clarify, simply typing a line of text in a word document and setting the paragraph style as "title" is not going to solve this. Rather, think of the needed title as "meta data" in your document. This meta can include a title, the author, and other useful information.

From within Word, clicking on File will reveal the properties of that document. On the far right of that properties/Info screen you should see "Title." Clicking in the space to the right of that Title field should let you type, similar to how most online forms would work.

If you type the formal title of your document in that specific field of your Word Doc, then that title should export correctly when you build your PDF.

While you can correct this through Acrobat, ideally you should have this set in your source Word document.

If it did not work for you, try saving the word doc after updating your title info to make sure it sticks. THEN build the pdf. If still it does not work then my guess is that you may be keying in the wrong location. If someone doesn't beat me to it, I'll screen cap the location once I'm back in office tomorrow.
