Question

Getting irregular margins when printing

Every other page of my document has a larger margin on the top. How do I make the margins consistent for the entire document? And how do I make them smaller? I end up with lots of white space all around my actual information.

HI ms19134002,

Assuming you have Acrobat Reader installed on the machine, could you please check if there is an update available for the application?

Launch Reader>navigate to Help menu>select Check for updates.

You may also try the steps suggested in the link below:

Printing Margin problem

Printing problem with 11x17pages Adobe XI Pro

Please confirm the application and the version of the application installed on the machine- Acrobat Reader/ Adobe Acrobat?

To check the version of Acrobat Reader DC for ex, launch Reader DC>navigate to Help menu>select About Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

Which Operating System is installed on the machine-Mac/Windows?

I am using Windows 10, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2015 Continuous Release (I pay monthly), and my printer is an HP Envy 5660. From reading the other threads you suggested, I can try and install new printer drivers or try printing from Adobe Reader rather than from Acrobat?

When I open a PDF file someone sends me, it prints exactly as it appears on the screen. When I am printing a PDF created in Acrobat from combining other PDF files is when I run into the problem. It appears great on screen, but when I print, every other page has a larger margin at the top and every page has larger margins in general than what shows on the screen.

I have tried changing the shrink to fit and borderless margins, etc. but can try again.

Hi ms19134002,

I am sorry for taking so long to respond.

Yes, you may try installing latest printer drivers and see if that helps.

Also, try printing from Acrobat Reader and see if this behavior continues.

Also, you may try installing update for Acrobat by launching Acrobat>click Help>select Check for Updates.

To download updates manually, visit the following link:

Adobe - Acrobat : For Windows

Adobe - Adobe Reader : For Windows

Please confirm the version of Adobe Acrobat installed on the computer.

You may refer to this link for the same:  Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Would it be possible if you can share the pdf file with us? I have sent you a private message, please check the inbox.

Thanks,

Shivam
