Going from Adobe on wind 7 to Win 10 and need help editing

I am trying to edit a text and hand written PDF. I used to be able to creat text boxes and type over the hand written text and just fill the box. How can I now change handwritten text to typed?

What application are you using, including the exact version number?

Thanks. I found what I needed. I needed to "prepare" and not "edit"
