Google Translate has problem with Acrobat produced PDF

I asked Google Translate to translate to Spanish a PDF file from Adobe Acrobat and the result was a document with both languages present.  I started from an image from a bill from a medical clinic; the image contained Spanish language items.  The image was from an Apple iPhone XR.  It was uploaded to WhatsApp and sent to me.  I converted the image to a PDF file and then ran OCR on the PDF file.  I then submitted that file to Google Translate, askiing for an English translation.  The document output by Google Translate had both languages present.  This is undesirable.  Using Wondershare PDF Element 9.5.7 for the same workflow resulted in a document only in Spanish from Google Translate.

Any explanation for this behavior?
