Gradient Block issues in pdf conversion

Would anyone have any ideas how to fix an issue w/r/t a gradient block pixeling out in a pdf convesrion from and AutoCAD .dwg format?  If I plot from full size sheet I get the pixels.  However, if I zoom into the block and plot from a window the block looks great.    Thank you in advance!
