Question

Hard drive crashed - reinstalled Acrobat Pro DC won't activate

I had to reinstall Adobe Acrobat Professional 12.0 Win UE otherwise known as Adobe Professional DC

Software installs fine after I enter the Product Serial number.  I have both the Product Code and Serial Number.

When I launch the application, it asks me to login to my adobe account using the QR code it presents to activate the software. I do that and it says successful

I then go back to launch the application, and it again asks me to activate the software.  I have tried 10 times.  No luck. Any suggestions how to get around this issue?

Since the reinstall completed and the serial number is accepted, but Acrobat keeps asking you to activate again, it sounds like the activation itself is not being retained rather than an installation problem.

I’d first make sure you’re installing the correct Acrobat version for that serial number. If this is an older perpetual Acrobat license, the current Acrobat installer may not be the same version that the license was issued for.

Also try signing out of the Adobe account completely, restart Windows, then launch Acrobat and activate again using the serial number if that option is available. If it still loops, check Adobe’s licensing/activation support because they may need to reset the activation for that serial number.

The exact Acrobat version/build and Windows version would also be helpful here, especially since you mentioned “Acrobat Professional 12.0 Win UE.”

Adobe applications are registered through an activation server. You have made an install, but the software will not activate. Adobe ended support for Acrobat DC Pro 2015 six years ago and the application servers have long been shut down.

Unfortunately, there isn’t any way I know of to get that long obsoleted software reactivated.

Wish I had better news for you,

Well that stinks.  It was working just fine.  So they just stole the money I spent to buy it.  I am done with Adobe and will buy a competing product - just as good and far less expensive.

I’m sorry you feel that way. I don’t pretend to speak for Adobe. I’m a vounteer. An end user just like you. But you bought that software 11 years ago.

And used it for 11 years.

Nobody stole your money. You still have your obsolete software.

Good luck with your future efforts.
