Highlight text tool will not work

The text is readable.

The Highlight tool is turned ON (checked).

The highlight tool will only underline text and open a comment.

I have  Adobe CC Windows, and everything is up to date.

 

UGGH adobe! 

Thank you in advance to all kind, sympathetic Adobe users who are also frustrated with the decline of user-friendliness in Adobe apps.

I have attempted to reproduce the issue on my end, and it appears to be working as expected. To help us investigate further and resolve the issue you are experiencing, could you kindly provide the following additional details:

  1. Scope of the Issue: Is the issue occurring with a specific PDF file, or does it happen with all PDFs? If possible, please test with a different PDF file to see if the issue persists.


  2. Acrobat Pro Version: Could you confirm the version of Adobe Acrobat Pro you are using? You can check this by going to Help > About Adobe Acrobat. Please ensure it is updated to the latest version (24.05.20320). If it's not up to date, you can go to the Help menu and select Check for Updates. After updating, please reboot your computer and check again if the issue persists.
