Highlighter in Acrobat Build Build: 26.1.21771.0 for Mac does not work properly. When selecting text for highlight it does not highlight but instead marks for redaction

Could you please share more details about the issue?

What is the version of macOS installed?

Is it happening with all the PDFs, or with a specific PDF?

Are you selecting text with the Highlight tool from Quick Actions/Comment, or are you working inside the Redact a PDF tool and then trying to highlight?

Suggestions:

Confirm you’re in the Highlight/Comment workflow, not Redact mode. Please use the Comment tool/markup workflow and choose Highlight Text. Select text with the Select text tool from the Quick action toolbar, then choose Highlight text from the markup toolbar. Please check this article for more details: https://adobe.ly/4yXuPKu

Check whether the Redact tool is active. All tools > Redact a PDF > Redact text and images, then drag/select the content to mark it for redaction. If your text selection is creating redaction marks, Acrobat may be staying in that redaction workflow rather than the highlight/comment workflow. Reset the tool placement if the wrong tool is being selected from the toolbar. Customise the Quick action toolbar. Go to Quick action toolbar > Add, remove, or reorder tools > Customise toolbar, then add, remove, or reorder tools and select Save. 3. A screenshot showing the active tool/pane when the text is selected
