Question

Ho Do I Maintain Sequence During Batch Printing

I am using Acrobat Pro DC--the "Action Wizard" function--to batch print a group of PDFs in the order that they are listed. As a simple test, I created five one-page files named 001, 002, 003, 004, and 005, respectively. I ran the job several times. Half the time they print out of sequence. I need to send the batch and trust that it prints the documents in sequential order, regardless of what they're titled. Is there a setting for this?

No, there isn't. I recommend you merge the files to a single PDF first, and then print it, if the order is important to you.

Thanks for your reply.

I do occasionally combine files to accomplish this, but sometimes there are hundreds of files of various page numbers, and at times the files are huge.

They are usually for exhibits for a trial, and after I print them I need to load them into binders, each behind a numeric tab.

Another option is to use a text-file, where you would enter the paths of the files in the order you want to print them, and then a script would read it and print them one by one.
