When working in another window and having a document open in Acrobat which is inactive, I can scroll the document horizontally by touchpad but not with Shift+Wheel. Never found anything on it in the preferences or on the web

Windows 11 v10.0.22621
Acer Travel Mate Series B
Acrobat Pro DC 2021.001.20149

UPD.
There's no problem in Acrobat v2023.003.20201, although it isn't much helpful for the topic

Hi Ingthehatter,

Thank you for reaching out.

Please let us know what you mean by Acrobat, which is inactive. Also, did you notice this behavior change recently?

Check if you scroll by holding the scrollbar in the application.

We see that you are using an old version of the application. Try updating the application and check if the issue still occurs.

For more information on the latest updates, refer to the following help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Meenakshi!

'inactive' refers to the Acrobat window which is out of focus because the user operates in another window visible on the screen (i.e. typing in Notepad while reading in Acrobat). That's why the scrollbars are not to be touched, being part of the inactive window – that would leave no sense to the issue.

The issue is not so recent; I encountered it a couple years ago on another laptop (Eee PC) and probably on another version of the app, but I don't have access to the app now, so this is not very helpful.
