How can I create endnote links in a pdf file so that the in-text reference number links to a citation number in the references section at the end of the document, and that number links back to the in-text reference number?

Sounds like regular links that take you to a specific location in the page... If you're asking how to create such links automatically, this is not the kind of thing you would do in Acrobat, normally. You would set it up in the authoring application (like Endnote) and then convert the file PDF, and the links should be converted as well.

So this is the problem, 3 of my friend with different versions of AdobeDC tried it out, nothing worked.

Endnotes are not usually set as link by tranfering from word to pdf...my question is if there is someone out there got this problem solved? What version od Adobe must be used to get endnotes as link down and up again?

I've developed stand-alone tools that can create such links, although not yet in both directions automatically, but it's certainly something I could do. You can contact me privately via [try6767 at gmail.com] to discuss it further, including the price.
