Question

How can I explain the document shows postdated PDF technology which didn't exist in 2003?

I know this is a strange question.

PDF was view and print only untill 2008.  My ex submittd the 14 pages document with 836 text fillable lines convered to underscore lines. He is claiming it was created in 2003. The formate is correpted, all input moved the underscores to the rignt and they used "Underline" under them.  Therefore, the lines are not verfically straights.

I have explained to the lawyers that the document shows postdated the software tecnology.

No one would make such a document in 2003 with a word because people were hand writting on PDF forms.

But the lawyers dodn't get it.  I live in one of Midwest state.

Are there any Expart that I can hire to explain?

What will you do? Any advise is appliciated.

You may be thinking of when Adobe READER was able to save form data. However, forms could be allowed to save form data much earlier. I believe it was with Acrobat (Pro) 5 around 2001.

Also, the created and modified dates are from the computer's settings. If a computer was set to a given date and the form performed a save-as, it would reset the dates. (I'm not sure how the OS and the software would react to such a dramatic date shift, but it should work.)

Back in 2003, my ex asked for Prenup to protect his hobby items and viecles. So I found PDF templates, Exhibit A & B on the internet and printed at school. We both handwritten on it. He said he will give me the copy but told me he lost them.

And I believed for over 21 years. Now, he filed for a divorce and his lawyer send me Prenup with Exhibit A & B typed. I am like come on, seriously???  HE FORGED THE DOCUMENT!

I have been explaing the lawyers that all 863 text fillable lines are converted to undercharacters because the person who created the form and the person who typed used different software to open the document.

Back in 2003,  the tecnology to open PDF in word or other NON Acrobat weren't avairable.

But where I live, the lawyers are like ??????

Not true. Form fields in PDF files existed since 1996 (PDF 1.2). Maybe they were not used so commonly, but they existed and were supported by Adobe Reader, especially for printing (saving was a bit trickier), and of course by Acrobat.

Yes! The user had to have Acrobat to input, right? If the document was nicely typed, it is belivable.

But my ex's document is 14 pages with 836 text fillable lines are converted into underscores. Some lines are shorter or longer because the person who typed didn't delete enough underscores. The document looks professional but the lines with input looks horrible. He submitted the document in March of 2025 and he is claiming it was created in 2003.

So what do you think?

In Acrobat, if you press Ctrl + d it will open the document properties.  In the general tab it should show a creation date and a modified date.  Also, click the Additional Meta button, Advanced category, and expand the meta data headings by clicking the + signs.  That will provide more information about the document.

@Genkidesu am not a lwayer, but, one of my clients does Accounting Forensics, so, in your case, you would need a specialist like Computer Forensics to dispell what you are saying.
