How Can I Remove a Forgotten Password from a PDF File?

I have an old PDF file that I protected with a password, but I’ve completely forgotten what it was. I need to access the file urgently for important information, but I can’t open it due to the password.

Is there any safe and effective PDF password remover tool or method that I can use to unlock the file without damaging it? I’d prefer a free or reasonably priced solution if possible.

Sadly, if you have forgotten the password to the file, you cannot recover it using Acrobat: https://adobe.ly/4iLoMPF

Thank you for reaching out.

 

There is an option to regain access to the permissions password used to restrict certain features in Acrobat. However, there is no option to reset the password you set for the PDF access. If you do not remember the password, there is not much that can be done.
