How do I control Copy/Paste behaviour?

Ive found that when copying and pasting comments in Acrobat, sometimes the comment is pasted in the same place as where it was copied from relative to the document, other times it pastes to the same location it was copied from relative to the viewport, and other times it just pastes to the center of the document. Is there any way to decide where it pastes to, or am I just at the whim of Acrobat? The behavior feels random, but I'm hoping it's not.

I'd like to add that when I copy and paste multiple comments from one document to another, sometimes the comments paste to the same location in the new document that they were in the old document. Sometimes they're pasted to the center of my screen, spaced out the same as they were when copied, and other times they paste to seemingly random locations, not at all spaced the way they were when copied.
