Question

How do I convert a group of files to Word?

I need to convert about 500 .pdf files all at the same time to word so that the text may be able to be copied.

I checked the security settings and there is no restriction set on copy.

Could be the way the .pdf was created?

Can this be changed somehow or is my only option converting to Word?

Tried the same action on my colleagues pc that has a full Pro license and the result was the same so it's either something network related or with the application itself. With more than 400+ files left to convert, doing it in increments of 13 is really irritating

Copy the files to the local machine, then...

Tried that but makes no difference. Also tried another pc - no difference.

When converting a folder, it seems like the conversion looses formatting after the 10'th file. When I open the word file the original formatting is not there and I cannot mark text for copy. Is there any limit in the trial version of Pro that would cause this.

sometimes 11, sometimes 13 files are converted correctly but it consistently losses the formatting after a while.

I'm also running the Swedish version :-( and wondering if I can change language after installation?

Almost there! Was able to create an Action and define the folder which I want to convert.

I hit start and it prompts me to open each file in the folder and I can't seem to find how to batch run it …. ??

yes they are but I can't for some reason copy text from them so I'm going to try converting to word instead.

There are several issues here. First of all, convert one file (via File - Save As Other - Microsoft Word Document) and see if the result is what you need. If so, then you can create an Action (if you have Acrobat Pro) to process all the files in the same way.

If it's not, then that problem needs to be sorted before performing the batch export.
