Question

How do I draw an arrow with the arrow tool so the tip of arrow is pointed?

When I draw an arrow, the tip of the arrow is not pointed but is the blunt end of the longer line that forms the arrow. How do I make the pointed end of the arrow actually pointed?

You can select an arrow that you've already created and right-click (control-click) and select Properties. On the Appearance tab you'll see the Start and End dropdowns where you can select the type of arrow ends you want, and have the option of selecting the checkbox so your choices become the default for arrows you later create.

I know how to make the arrow by selecting the Start and End drop downs, but when I select "Open," which makes the arrow shape, the tip of the arrow is not sharp. Note the attached image. (Thanks, George, for responding to my dilemma!)

Acrobat doesn't have a way to change that. A workaround would be the make a straight line and then separately draw another shape: Connected lines and line them up manually.
