How do I edit in an open document using Adobe Standard DC without having to drag to an online portal

We have purchased Adobe Standard DC which does not seem to allow us to edit a document in an open PDF downloaded from our computer hard drive (not saved in the cloud).  

Adobe wants us to drag the document into the cloud to make the changes.  This wastes time and we can do this using other free software.

We purchased Adobe Standard DC with a view to saving time and this does not happen.

How can we edit in the open document from our computer without having to drag it into the cloud?

 

It makes no sense to purchase a software which does not allow editing of documents opened from a pc.

Does anyone else have this problem?

    Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

     

    What happens when you try to edit the PDF, do you get any pop up message, if yes, please share the screenshot of the same for a better understanding.

     

    What is the workflow/steps you are doing to edit? A small video recording of the same would be very helpful for more clarity.

     

    Please check with a different set of PDF files and see if its an issue with a particular PDF file or with all of them.

     

    Also, make sure you have the application updated to the recent version 23.06.20360. Go to Help > Check for upates and reboot the computer once.
