How do I install a download from Adobe for Acrobat Pro XI for Mac?

I am not able to install Adobe for Acrobat Pro XI for my Mac?  I downloaded an "update" yesterday (which was identified as the final update before this product is discontinued); immediately after the update, the program crashes when I try to open the app.   I have uninstalled and reinstalled the product 4 times and it still does not work.  I goes through the entire install process, then tells me that the app is installed, but it simply will not open (it gives a very lengthy error report file).

It appears that the .dmg download link may be corrupt; is there anyone that can help me get this installed and running ASAP, as I have deadlines today and need Adobe for that purpose.

In dispair,

Troy

dc is compatible with sierra/high sierra.  with xi you may need help from the message 3 link, but first you need to dl the installation file:

Thanks for your help....Is that install for High Sierra the Acrobat Pro XI or is it the DC online version?

It appears to be the online DC download, which is not what I need.  Any idea where to get the "Acrobat Pro XI for Mac" as a download from a couple of months ago?

This only sends me to the download on the Adobe website....which does not install;  How can I get a download from a few months ago (prior to the latest update)?

why doesn't it install?

do you have an incompatible os like sierra?  if so, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/install-creative-suite-mac-os-sierra.html

Single user licensee downloadable installation files available:

Updates

  • Download and installation help for Adobe links

  • Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

And a big thank you to Jim @ Prodesigntools for helping me with these links!
