I have a pdf file that I cannot upload to a site as it comes back with the error that it has active content.  How do I remove the active content from the file?

Hi xniman,

Active content can exist in many common file formats that an organization uses on a daily basis; documents such as Excel, Word, PDF, and PowerPoint will be shared between organizations and within an organization regularly. These documents can contain malicious active content – such as macros in Excel files and Java-Script embedded in a PDF file.

To remove active content from a pdf file, try sanitizing the pdf.

Go to Tools> Protection> Sanitize document.

Hello,

I am having the same problem as of

1. Re: How do I remove active content from a pdf file

Specifically, I am trying to upload PDF files on an internet website. However, I am not allowed to do so as:

The system does not allow files with active contents. Please contact the administrator or try again after removing active contents.

Could you help me out on this issue? The solution proposed above by STAFF does not work.

Thank you very much,

Best,
