How do I remove the snapshot tool from the toolbar

My acrobat just updated to version 26.1.21789.0 and now the toolbar has a snapshot tool which I can’t remove. The tool itself wouldn’t be a bother if it didn’t load like 10 ish seconds after the file is opened. I use the built-in snipping tool like a normal person I don’t need this snapshot tool. Let me remove it.

    Could you please share more details about the issue? Can you please share a screenshot of the window you get where you see the snapshot tool? Are you on a Windows machine or a Mac, and what is the OS version? Is it taking time while opening all the PDFs, or is it specific to one PDF?

    If you are on a Windows machine, you can disable the tool from the Acrobat's Menu > Preferences > General, then deselect Open snapshot for markup, and select OK.

    I’m struggling with this as well. The “Take a snapshot” appeared on the quick action toolbar about a month ago and it cannot be removed or moved to another spot in the toolbar.

    I don’t need this tool in my day to day, I’d really prefer to just remove it. Barring that, how do I move it so the two features I use the most frequently are back together? I have to initial and watermark every document I review for my org, that custom watermark tool used to sit directly under the initials tool and now I have no way of reuniting these long lost friends.

    I hope you are doing well, and thanks for sharing the details. Sorry for the trouble you had.

     

    Take a Snapshot is now surfaced directly in the Quick Actions toolbar as part of Acrobat’s newer Snapshot experience. As of now, it cannot be removed from the default tools. You can use the Acrobat wish form to file a feature request with the product team on making changes to the existing feature: https://acrobat.uservoice.com/

    ​@jaden_0242 Aaaahhh...I’m actually using the Classic view! Let me switch over to the new Acrobat layout.

    If you click the three dots on the toolbar and select "Customize Toolbar," you can uncheck the tool to get rid of it. As for preferences, I’m on a MacBook Pro, so under Page Display - Rendering, I match the smooth text setting to my screen type (on my PC, I set it to Monitor). I also turned off "Show large images" in Page Display to speed things up, and disabled "Show online storage" under General for both opening and saving files.

    Honestly though, I stick with the Classic view most of the time—it just gives me way fewer headaches overall.
