How do I retrieve a lost password for digital signing in Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional?

When I attempt to digitally sign a PDF document, it asks for a password, but I do not know that password. What should I do?

Passwords for a signature profile can't be restored. Just create a new profile and sign it using that.

Unless you get the password from the person who sent you the document there's not much you can do.
