How do I sequentially number legal exhibits?

I need to apply an exhibit number to many pages of legal exhibits.  I would like to do it with a stamp of sorts.

I con't be the first person to ask how to do this.  This "stamp" if there is such a thing must take the form of

RX-1, Page 1 of 5; RX-2, Page 2 of 5 etc.

Hi Stanley,

Are you using Acrobat DC? If so, please see the information on Bates Numbering here:

Add headers, footers, and Bates numbering to PDFs, Adobe Acrobat

I am following all the instructions in batestamping in Acrobat Pro DC but the numbers on the pdfs are not changing I tested 12 pdfs and they all had the same number printed on them.

When you are adding the Bates numbers, and dow the following steps, can you take a screen snapshot and show it here?

Click Insert Bates Number. Then enter the following:

  • In Number Of Digits, specify how many digits make up the Bates number, entering any number from 3 through 15. The default number is 6, which produces Bates numbers such as 000001, 000002, and so on.
  • In Start Number, enter the number to assign to the first PDF on the list. The default is 1.
  • In Prefix, type any text to appear before the Bates number.
  • In Suffix, type any text to appear after the Bates number.

Please show a snapshot of the dialog box showing the above items filled in.

Thanks,

Mike
