How do I split a pdf into two pdfs and maintain the existing links between the two new files?

I have a single 265 page pdf that I need to split into two separate pdfs. The single pdf has links that would go between the two split sections of the pdf. Is there a way to maintain those links after the file is split so clicking a link in one pdf would open the other pdf?

    There's no built-in way of doing that. It would require a custom-made plugin or stand-alone tool to edit the links after the files have been split so that they point to the right location.
