How do I utilize multiple adobe PDF printers without having them share printing preferences?

I have an excel macro that references an output location where I expect my adobe PDF printer to output certain files. Because this is an inconvenient location for my general pdf printing needs, I created a second instance of an adobe pdf printer using these instructions Can I install multiple instances of the Adobe PDF printer driver? . Note that I am using Acrobat pro XI but the method is still valid. I am running into a problem, however, where if I change one printer setting it sometimes applies to the other. For instance I initially set up my primary printer to prompt me for a file location and the secondary (the one for the macro) printer to output to a specified location. It worked exactly as planned until I went in to the primary printer and changed the quality settings. I noticed that once I did that, the secondary printer had "Adopted" the exact same settings as the primary. Is there a way around this problem?

Thank you for your time,

Farzad

Hello Farzad,

Sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. Creating multiple Adobe PDFPrinter instances, and having different printer preferences is not an Adobe design behavior, and multiple PDF Printer instances may or may not have same preferences.

There is no such workflow to make changes and have multiple PDFPrinters with different preferences.

However, if you wish, you can file a feature request for the same to have multiple PDFPrinter with different Printer preferences through Feature Request/Bug Report Form

Feel free to update this discussion for any further assistance.
