Question

How do you select multiple items in a list box on a Mac?

I am new to creating PDF forms so I'm sure the answer is obvious but I have not been able to get this to work. I have selected the "Allow Multiple Selections" checkbox in the form preference and it works on my PC holding down the control button but my colleague on a Mac isn't able to make more than one selection holding down the command key. I borrowed a Mac myself to test it and tried holding control, shift, command, option, command+shift and everything else but I am not able to get it to work. Any advice?

Hold "Command".

The list box is part of a dialog window so I guess I'm out of luck. I'll have to go with selecting one at a time and a "select all" checkbox where they can delete the ones they didn't want. Thanks for the quick reply.

I realize I'm very late to this thread but I'm having the same issue. I'm in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC on a Mac. I have a list box in a dialog and am unable to select multiple items even when I hold the Command key down. I'm in "Prepare Form" mode. Where is the setting for "Allow multiple selections"?

You mentioned a dialog. Is this list-box an actual form field, or a part of dialog window? If the latter, it can't be done.

If the former, right-click it, select Properties and then look under the Options tab.

It is the command key, and it works for me. What version of Acrobat and OSX are you using when it doesn't work?

The Mac that I have tested it on is running OS X El Capitan. I haven't been able to test it in Acrobat on the Mac I borrowed but it doesn't work in Preview and I know my colleagues couldn't get it to work in Acrobat on their Macs. I have contacted Adobe support and sent them the file and they told me they were able to make multiple selections on their PC's WITHOUT holding Control and that they were going to test it on a Mac and get back to me.

Don't expect any form to work correctly with Preview. It absolutely should not be used for forms.

I'd be interested in testing it out if you want to send it to me: acroscript at gmail dot com

Was the drop down list set to allow multiple selections?

If it has not, then this is not possible.

Yes they are set to allow multiple selections and it works on my PC but not on my colleagues Mac using both Acrobat or Preview.
