How do you tile a booklet?

Hi! For a while now, I have been cropping a several hundred-page document made of double-page spreads by copying a page, cropping one on the right side, and the other on the left. This is incredibly tedious, as I am cropping every single page by hand. Is there a way I can automate this? I have seen there is a tile option on printing that separates double-page spreads, however, this option does not appear for booklets. Help me, please!!

Correct answer JR Boulay

Download this action, unzip it and double-click it to import it into Acrobat Pro:

https://abracadabrapdf.net/parking/AcroUsers/Decouper-planches-en-pages.zip

It will cut all the spreads in two pages.

Thank you so so much!! However, I have no idea how to import files such as this into Acrobat Pro, let alone use it once it is in. Is there anything you can tell me?

@vonw45762603, you need to install JR Boulay's Action/Script into your version of Acrobat Pro.

See https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/action-wizard-acrobat-pro.html, and scroll down to the section Manage Custom Actions.

Briefly:

  1. Open the Actions Wizard panel from the Tools section.
  2. From the top bar, select Manage Actions.
  3. Select the Import button from the lower right side.
  4. Navigate to JR's Action, and import it.

To use the Action, simply double-click its name in the Action Wizard's panel.
