how is adobe introducing an invalid destination file url into my link

Hello,

I am creating links in a document to external documents housed within the same folder and when I run the Bookmark & Link Attributer I receive invalid links that have a Destination File/URL to @X"z.  I have created links by going to a page view and open file, both are giving me this error.  Anyone know what might be happening?
