Question

How to add blank space to the bottom of an existing A4 scanned pdf

Hello,

I have a huge amount of A4 multipage scanned pdf files, well organized in seperate folders.

I need to add a 40mm white strip to the bottom of each page in every file.

Is this possible?

I've tried to do it using an Action with Crop Page command with no success.

Every time I try to change the page size to a custom size (e.g. 8.278x13.000) it says an error message "page size may not be reduced"!

I use Acrobat XI Pro.

You can do this with a script,

this.setPageBoxes("Crop",.....);

But it will make the page larger than A4.  Is this what you want to do? or do you want to shrink the page content?

Thank you for your quick reply,

To be honest I would prefer to shrink the page content but after reading similar topics in forums I thought it is quite impossible.

That's why I tried to find a way to grow the bottom of the page canvas..

Also I don't know anything about scripting, especially in acrobat!

Is there an easy way?

It's possible, just not easy.

However, if you just add the space to the bottom of the page, then print to A4, the print engine will scale it. And that's easy.
