I would like to assign the current date to a field in the PDF form I am creating. Can this be done in Acrobat Adobe Pro DC?

If yes, how?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's possible, but you'll need to provide more details, such as exactly when do you want the field value set. Possibilities include each time the form is opened, each time the field receives the focus, each time a button is pressed, each time a previously blank field is filled-in, etc.

If possible, I want this date field to behave as follows:

a) Set the current date as default when you open the PDF form.

b) While filling out the form, the user can still override the default date with another date

c) But once the form is send out, the date cannot be modified anymore.
