Question

How to change back text accidentally set as "this is not text" when reviewing OCR

I was reviewing OCR'd text and accidentally deleted the recognized word, so that the message showed "this is not text" and clicked accept. When I select "review recognized text," that word is gray and I can't click on it.  I can't click on the word, so how do I correct it?

Hi Saraa

Thanks for reaching out. As described above, you want to undo the text recognition, correct?

Please refer to the steps provided in the help article  - https://answers.acrobatusers.com/undo-recognize-text-q28083.aspx and see if that works for you

Note: the steps for Acrobat DC is similar to Acrobat X

Let us know how it goes

Yes, I want to undo text recognition, but *just for that one word,* which I mistakenly marked as "not text." I don't want to lose all the work I did in correcting the OCR in the rest of the text. The solutions linked to seem to wipe out *all* the text recognition, either by removing hidden text, printing as .pdf or saving as jpeg.

Hello

The text recognition runs for the entire document so we can not undo text recognition for just one word. You might have to remove it and then redo the text recognition.
