How to change print output extension from ps to pdf

I have been using Acobat XI Pro. Recently, I found that whenever I try to print to a PDF file from within Acobat, the filename that appears has a ".ps" extension instead of a ".pdf" extension. How can I change the extension to ".pdf"? I must have messed up some settings. Thank you.

Hi There,

Thanks for reporting the issue.

In-order to print to a PDF, we need to select "Adobe PDF Printer" from the dropdown for a printer list.

And, firstly need to disable the "Print to File" option from Print > Advanced > Disable checkbox for "Print to File"

Print to File will print a PS file or similar format which is in case of a printer; we need a virtual print instead of on a page. Which can eventually be used by Acrobat Distiller to be converted to PDF format.

Please let us know, if anything else is required from our end.

Regards,

In the print dialog disable the entry "Print to File".
