How to copy multipe data from excel and find it in a pdf

Hi

I have 2 files one is a pdf with more of 1000 pages of certificates that includes ID numbers

The other is an excel file that contain the information of names and ids etc..

I want to copy a batch of the IDs from the excel and find the certificates that relate to and extract the pages (certificates) in a separate pdf.

It takes forever to do it one by one.

How to do that in batches?

Thank you

One option of doing it is to use the Search & Remove Text tool. You can paste into it a list of search terms and then run it on the file. It will highlight all the matches using Redaction annotations, which can be converted into Highlights (using a script) or just used as they are to locate all the instances that were found. You can then delete those comments without applying them and the file will remain as it was originally.

Thank you for your reply,,

I tried it and it took around 10 min to complete a 3% for a batch of 12 .. the file has 1800

It will take forever.

Any other solution?

That is very strange. It usually takes just a couple of seconds. Is your file very large?

Anyway, that is the most efficient way of doing it in Acrobat. A more powerful tool would have to be a stand-alone application, running independently of Acrobat. I've developed such tools in the past, so if you're interested in hiring a professional to create it for you, feel free to contact me privately by clicking my user-name and then on "Send a Message".
