How to fill out a form without text disappearing when switching to the next field?

Whenever I open a fillable form and attempt to fill it out, Acrobat won't allow me to do so. I can add text to a field, but then when I click the next field, the first field's text disappears.

Maybe there's a calculation script that overwrites the value you enter... Do you have Acrobat or just the free Reader?

I have Acrobat Pro. This happens on most of the forms I try to use, no matter if the field requires letters or numbers.
