How to fill out PDF file using Nepali font

I am trying to fill out a visa form (secured PDF) and need to include names in the Nepali font.  I'm using a Mac (OSX 10.11.6), and I've downloaded and installed the font package for my version of Reader (2018.011.20058), but still can't get the font to display on the page. When I select the Nepali keyboard on my right menu bar, I only get question marks (?????) when I try to fill out the PDF form. What am I missing?
