How to keep Acrobat Pro DC at background when combining files into PDF?

When combining a lot of files (word, ppx, pdf, etc) into 1 pdf file, after every seperate file from te list is converted the Acrobat windows becomes te active window. This is pretty annoying when multitasking. How can i stop this behaviour and make Acrobat perform this task in the background??

This is on Windows 7 64bit

That has nothing to do with it. Acrobat is NOT meant to be used as a background service.

AFAIK, Adobe doesn't offer any tool that will do that, except maybe some web-based services, like the PDF Pack.

I'm still facing this stupid issue in 2024. Acrobat grabs focus each time it adds a file. This is just plain dumb. I often have to combine 100+ jpg files into a PDF and it just steals the system, locking me out of my computer for several minutes.

Ok.. Guess that's why they call it 'Pro' right? Any idea of tools that can do this for us?
