How to merge PDF files with camscanner files?

I am trying to merge PDF files with camscanner generated files into a combined PDF. However, pages from each file are not proportional and I wanted to know if there is a way to amend this via the app? I do not have access to all the scanned documents anymore, so any way around this will be majorly appreciated!!

    Hi @Simran1990,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you let us know which app you are referring to here, a mobile or a desktop app, and please mention the name of the app?

You can fix this directly in Acrobat without needing to re-scan anything. CamScanner files often export at non-standard page dimensions (e.g., A4 portrait at an unusual DPI or in mixed orientations), which is exactly why merged PDFs can look uneven. Here are two ways to normalize the pages after merging:

Option 1 — Print to PDF (simplest, works in all versions)

This re-renders all pages at a consistent size:

    1. Open your merged PDF in Acrobat.

    2. Go to File > Print.

    3. Under Printer, select Adobe PDF.

    4. Under Page Sizing & Handling, choose Fit.

→ This scales every page (including CamScanner pages) to fit a uniform output size like A4 or Letter.

    5. Under Orientation, set a consistent choice (Portrait or Landscape).

    6. Click Print and save as a new PDF.

This is non-destructive — your original merged file stays untouched.

Option 2 — Crop Pages to a fixed size (Acrobat Pro)

If you want pixel-precise control over each page's dimensions:

    1. Open the merged PDF.

    2. Go to Tools > Organize Pages.

    3. Select the pages you want to resize (Ctrl+A for all, or hold Ctrl and click individual pages).

    4. Right-click > Crop Pages.

    5. Under Change Page Size, tick Set To and enter a standard size (e.g. A4: 595 x 842 pt, or Letter: 612 x 792 pt).

    6. Click OK.

Note: Crop Pages adjusts the visible boundary — it won't stretch content if the CamScanner pages are smaller than your target size. For scaling rather than cropping, Option 1 is more reliable.

Option 3 — Action Wizard batch normalize (Acrobat Pro, best for large documents)

If you have many pages across multiple documents to fix regularly:

    1. Go to Tools > Action Wizard > Create New Action.

    2. Add the step: Save > Reduce File Size (this triggers page normalization as part of the output).

    3. Alternatively, pair this with a Preflight profile to enforce a fixed page size.

This is the most scalable route if this is a recurring workflow.
