Hello,

By pressing on the red cross at the top right of the acrobat main window, I would like to :

- minimize the acrobat main window.

- close all open file tabs inside the acrobat main window.

Is it possible to set it in preferences ?

Correct answer try67

I am using Windows 11.

You need to click the small cross in the tab of the file, next to the file name. The red cross is a button of the window, which closes the entire application. This can't be changed. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+W to close just the current file.

Pierre, thanks for posting about managing the windows and documents within Acrobat. Which operating system are you using? If macOS, then you may be referring to the ability to arrange windows on macOS. You can find more information at https://adobe.ly/3NqlU0P.

For information on how to adjust the view settings and preferences within Acrobat, see https://adobe.ly/4sKSLxq, but this does not include the requested features, as those functions are covered by window management in macOS, Pierre. ^JW

Hi Jeffrey,

I am using acrobat pro on Windows 11.

Each time I close a PDF, I am using the red cross, but the problem actually is that it closes the acrobat app, so by re-opening another PDF, acrobat start from scratch, and it takes time before to load the blue icon at the top right (corresponding to my adobe account). By letting acrobat minimized, acrobat is fully functional immediately.

So I need to minimize it by pressing the red cross, but I don't know how to set it in the preferences.

The red cross closes the window, Pierre. Are you using macOS? Please see https://adobe.ly/3NOJ4hp for information on how to manage the windows. ^JW
