How to remove old scanner from Acrobat X1 Mac OS

I have an old Mac Pro running Yosemite.  I have had Acrobat XI installed for a while.  I used it frequently with my old scanner, an EPSON V500,  I have now switched to a new scanner, an EPSON V39.  But Acrobat X1 won't see the V39, it insists I still have the V500 installed.  But the system prefs and all the other apps on my system see the V39 and work perfectly with it.

On the Mac, there doesn't seem to be any way to reset the scanner from within Acrobat.  I even tried completely uninstalled Acrobat, restarting and reinstalling Acrobat.  No luck.  Still insists that the only scanner it can see is V500.

This is NOT on Windows, so please don't suggest fixes for Windows.  TIA.

Please check with the scanner driver provider for proper uninstallation. It may not be a proper solution but, you can try following steps:

1. Quit all running applications.

2. Remove the USB cable connected between the scanner and your computer.

3. Open Finder application of your Mac OS X.

4. Click [Go] from the menu bar ->[Go to Folder...].

5. Enter the locations listed below -> click [Go] -> delete the files or folders related to scanner driver you are seeing.

  • /Library/Application Support/
  • /Library/Image Capture/Devices/*
  • /Library/IMage Capture/ TWAIN Data Sources/

Thanks.
