How to replace a prior file with a new one, without losing my edits on the prior

Two options:

- Use the Replace Pages command on the old file and select the pages from the new file. This will keep all of your existing comments in tact.

- Export the comments to an external FDF file, then import that file into the new file to generate the comments in it.

I think the latter is a better option, as it will also create a backup of your existing comments, just in case.

However, keep in mind that in both options the comments will be re-created in exactly the same locations as they appeared in the original file. So if some text moved when you redesigned the file, the comments over that text (such as a Highlight) will no longer be over it in the new version.
