How to send a PDF out for signature more than once

I sent a PDF for an e-signature, and received back with no issue. Now, I need to send that same PDF out for 2 more signatures, but now the PDF is in an unsupported format. What has happened here? How can I re-send out the same PDF for more signatures?

I will need to do this process every time - send out for an approval from a supervisor, and once the PDF has been approved, then I will need to send it out to 2 or 3 more parties.

Hi Ma_region,

Sorry for the delay in respnse.

It is not possible to make any changes to the PDF once it is signed and filed. The PDF gets encrypted after adding the signature. You cannot send that PDF further for more signatures.

As you need multiple signature on a single document, add all the signers as a recipient and add the signature field for each one while sending the PDF form for signature. You can enable the radio button for "Complete in order" so that the document will be sent to each signer in the same order you have added the recipient emails.

It seems that you are using Adobe Acrobat's Fill & Sign feature to send document for signature. You may take help of the steps provided in the following link: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/using/send-for-signature.html

Let us know if you need any help or have any questions.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Hi there

We are sorry for the trouble. As described you need to send the document for signature for approval first and then more signatures are required on the same document.

In your case, once the PDf is signed and returns to you the signature process is complete and the PDF gets locked for any more editing. However, you may use the 'Request for Signature' option in Fill and sign tool in Adobe Acrobat /Reader DC and add the signers according to the signing sequence to get the document signed from all the parties. Please refer to the steps provided in the help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/using/send-for-signature.html)

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal

Hi,

Yes, that is what is supposed to happen. It is not. Adobe is telling me that the file is unsupported. The question is, why is it unsupported? How can I change the file from unsupported to supported again?

Hi,

When you receive back the file to apply the last signature, does it shows as .pdf in the file extension or something else?
