How do i set a pdf to show open inan e-mail instead of an icon?

It's up to the email client to do that. It has nothing to do with Adobe, or the PDF file itself.

Ok, thats what my own thoughts were about this subject.

Everything else said earlier in this thread is true but let me add that other conditions also apply.

In Apple's Mail, a single page PDF will display the page but anything more than a single page will show up as the icon. So there are a variety of issues at play.
