How to split two pages on a single photocopied page

Question

I have a copied a copyright permitted family genealogy book that has two pages on each legal sized copied sheet. I will be making a single pdf of all 300 pages. I want to convert this file so that there is a single page shown on the single page view, whereas now there are two pages shown on the single page view. I would like to automate the process for the entire file.
