Question

How to stop Adobe Acrobat from resetting "always open PDFs downloaded from the web" option?

I do not want Adobe Acrobat to automatically open PDFs when I download them. I know that this can be disabled in Preferences → General. However, whenever Adobe installs an update this setting seems to reset for some annoying reason instead of respecting the current settings.

How do I disable this setting permanently?

    Hello @Dannehh,

I hope you are doing well, and thank you for reaching out. We're sorry for the trouble you had with the app.

Please note that there is currently no supported way to permanently lock or preserve the “Always open PDFs downloaded from the web” setting across Adobe Acrobat updates. You can use the Adobe Wish form to file a feature request with the product team and provide your feedback directly to them: https://adobe.ly/4da3Y56

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.
