How to turn off OCR???

While parsing any images,Adobe divides the entire image to separate editable element.

For Ex:Let say i have one complete image in my document, in which there is one table,there are some texts etc.When i am parsing this image through adobe in the output document all the elements i.e tables,text are become editable which is causing many issues in my work.

For the same i thought of turning off the OCR but could not able to figure out where to do it.

    Keep in mind that there are only two settings: On or off. If it's off, you cannot edit anything on that page. There is no setting that would control how much - or what elements - would be OCRed.

    Hi,

    I just finished a frustrating locked conversation on this same topic. Nothing was working systematically for anybody. I just found that when I brought up "from scanner" option under "insert" and there were numerous options for color, black and white, etc., once I checked one of those, a small cog icon, grayish and inconspicuous, appeared to the right of the option, and pressing that cog gave me all the preset options for the scanner I'm using. Scrolling down permitted unchecking an OCR box, and that did the trick for me. This was in Acrobat Standard, Ver 2023.001.20093 64 bit. I hope this helps some of you who are dealing with this same puzzle. A significant fraction of my afternoon went into it before finding this simple fix. Dennett H.

    Thanks, but that option doesn't show up in the edit side bar for me, perhaps b/c I am on a Mac?

      I am on a Mac too, and it does show up with the latest version of Acrobat DC. This is very likely a feature that was added after the 2015 release, and you would only get access to it if you have a subscription.

      I have the same question, running Acrobat Pro DC version 2015.006.30434 on Mac OS 10.13.6.
