HP Scanner to pdf and use of PDF Expert

I have used my HP 1210mf scanner to scan docs to pdf. I then use pdf expert to make notes on these documents.

Recently I find that these documents require me to use a font size of over 40 when typing in my notes using pdf expert when earlier the norm was 14.

Yesterday I scanned a document to pdf on this same printer and used my Repree document signing software to insert some matter. The matter I typed into the document turned out to be miniscule and could hardly be read....less than 6 font size!

Would very much appreciate help to overcome this sudden glitch. Since the common factor is the scanner (scan from other sources including print to pdf seems to still work with pdf expert and repree) I think my scanner settings might have changed suddenly.
