Question

I am having a problem with activation of my Adobe Acrobat XI on my new computer.

I bought a perpetual license in 2013. I have a license key. I deactivated it from my previous computer. I don't have any activated devices on Adobe portal. Still I can't activate it on my new computer and I am getting an error message that I need to deactivate this license on another device. Please help I don't know what to do

I’m afraid you’re out of luck installing Acrobat XI on a new system. That software is long obsolete and no longer supported by Adobe Systems. Adobe ended support for Acrobat XI 9 years ago, and the activation servers for that software were shut down long ago.

If you want to run Acrobat, you have to either install the free Adobe Reader version or either subscribe or buy a three-year license for Acrobat DC Standard or Pro.

Sorry I don’t have better news for you,

Thanks for your comment. It is very unfortunate because I bought a perpetual license. A very bad experience for me from Adobe. I have a very simple use case: I just need to insert an image of my signature and text into pdf files. What is the easiest (and cheapest) way to do it?

I’d suggest Acrobat Pro for editing text in PDFs and inserting digital signatures  —which you likely want to do, rather than simulate it with an image that can be extracted and perhaps used elsewhere without your permission.

If you plan to be sending PDFs out for digital signatures, or otherwise wrangling them for review/approval from others, you may want to consider the Adobe Studio subscription.

    Hope this helps,
