I am not able to digitally sign or certify any documents

When I choose either option I can use my mouse and create the signature box, but once I do that, the screen goes opaque black and I can’t perform any more functions. I can CTRL+ALT+DEL and shut down Adobe or I can ESC and it takes me back to the open PDF.

I’ve shut down and restarted my machine, but to no avail.

The last document I was able to Certify was on 9/9/21 and my certification doesn’t expire until 12/20/2025, so I’m not sure what the problem is.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are unable to digitally sign the PDF files as the screen goes opaque black and you can’t perform any more functions.

Would you mind sharing if this is a behavior with a particular PDF file or wit all the PDFs?

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 21.07.20091 installed Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also go to Edit (Win), Adobe Acrobat (Mac) > Preferences > Signatures > 'Creation and appeareance' > Click More and uncheck 'use Modern user interface for signing and digital ID configuration' > Click OK and reboot the computer once

Regards

Amal

He does have the latest version installed and he did have a problem with more than 1 PDF

But that last recommendation fixed it
Edit (Win), Adobe Acrobat (Mac) > Preferences > Signatures > 'Creation and appeareance' > Click More and uncheck 'use Modern user interface for signing and digital ID configuration' > Click OK and reboot the computer once

Thanks for your help
