Question

I am unable to edit PDF file that I was able to edit yesterday

I went to edit a PDF and the edit dialogue box opened, but nothing responds when clicking to make changes.

I uninstalled, and then reinstalled Acrobat, but the same issue appears. I tried another PDF document and the same problem shows up.

Any ideas...here's what I'm working with:

  • Architecture: arm64
  • Processor: Apple M4
  • Build: 25.1.20756.0
  • AGM: 7.1.18
  • CoolType: 10.0.3
  • JP2K: 4.0.2.54782

I just tried what you said in your post. Like you, I'm using the same build of Acrobat Pro on an M4 Mac Mini, using MacOS Sequoia 15.6.1.

I selected my Edit a PDF tools from the left-side panel, and was able to use all my editing tools. Then I saved the PDF and shut it down, reopened it and it worked fine. I also was able to open and edit an old file I had handy with all the tools in the Edit a PDF toolset.

That doesn't mean I don't think you have a problem. You do, or you wouldn't be here asking for help. How did you generate the PDF you were editing. Do you have problems with any PDF you try to edit twice, or just this particular one?

Thank you Randy...I'm still having the same issue and have tried several older PDFs and the same issue pops up. I've resorted to recreating the file in InDesign and exporting it as a PDF to send (it's a timesheet that has to be edited each week). When I try to edit the PDF exported from the InDesign file using Acrobat, the same problem comes up. Thak you for your attempt to help...
