Acrobat Pro DC will not do anything where I click on start button when creating a form?

To create a PDF form, you have to first create the PDF. Acrobat is not a document creation tool. For example, create layout, text and graphics for your form in MS Word. Convert the word file to a PDF. Then open it in Acrobat to add form fields using the "Prepare Form" tools.

Thank you.

It works, although it seems like it is a wast of time to convert it to pdf first then editing it.

I have created the form in Indesign and made PDF. When I go to PDF and select Prepare form then hit start button and nothing happens. I have tried to turn off the auto detection but there is no forms option in the preferences.

So the toolbar doesn't change to show you the form field tools?  The cursor should also change to an Arrow.
