Question

I cannot install Acrobate reader on my PC (Win 11)

I have uninstalled Acrobat reader from my PC due to an error message that I was receiving. Ever since, I am trying to install it again from the download page of Adobe, but I have no luck.

I start the installation, the installation runs fine and when it finishes I get a success message. BUT the app is not installed on my PC. I cannot find it in my installed apps and i cannot ask my PC to open PDF files with Acrobat. They only open in my Chrome browser.

I have tried to clen up the whole thing with the Adobe suggested cleaner, i have repeated the steps a million times, still no luck.

Can anyone suggest a solution?

Many thanks

Dinos

Thanks for the tip. I will try it.
the problem is exactly that: I am getting no error message whatsoever. Installation finishes successfully. That is what is written on the screen.
still the application does not appear in my installed apps and PDFs can only open via browser.
thanks.

@dconstan maybe you have an old remnant of Acrobat on your computer. If that is the case, download Adobe Cleaner Tool from Adobe website and remove any of file, or removing outdated installations and cleaning up corrupt files, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/apps/troubleshoot/diagnostics-repair-tools/run-creative-cloud-cleaner-tool.html

Once it is clear and done. Make sure to empty that trash can if anything got moved there?! Ok, now either go to https://get.adobe.com/reader or download Creative Cloud Desktop App or go to adobe.com and log into your Adobe account, and get Acrobat from there
